JIVA Series of Ventilators ADULT / NEO

The JIVA Ventilators are the top of the line ventilators that have extensive modes, large intuitive displays, and technology that is designed to grow with your needs. The graphics enable better user interpretation of the patient data. For e.g. the ventilators don't just provide the waveforms as in other machines, but, they are colour coded to enable you to recognize spontaneous and machine breaths, and between inspiration and exhalation.

Pressure, Volume and Dual Modes are present in the JIVA ventilators. Our unique EZ-WEAN window allows the use of these modes and minimize the number of user interventions.

User settings can be done using either the Touch Screen or the Keypad.

Numerous Trends are stored for upto 120 hours. These are available in convenient colour coded combinations of parameters that assist in the implementation of lung protective strategies like the Open Lung, and for situations like Weaning.

Inspiratory and Expiratory Holds can be implemented by a very simple maneuver. A Manual breath and 100% O2 delivery for upto 2 minutes is available.

An EVENT LOG that runs for several days records all changes made to the settings. It also records, for subsequent review, the corresponding alarm limits and important monitored data. This allows you to review the progress of therapy in your absence.

JIVA

The JIVA provides a high end platform for the seamless treatment of  Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal patients . It is designed to address the key concerns of highly reputed and experienced medical professionals, the JIVA has actually emerged to align with the recommendations of globally drafted “Consensus Papers”. The concerns centered mainly around Ventilator Induced Lung Injury and Weaning. There were also concerns expressed regarding the safety of Non-invasive ventilation. The investigation by JCAHO into Ventilator related deaths and injury revealed the failures of equipments to have appropriate alarms to prevent these.

Lung Damage Limiting Strategies have been either Volume based ( PRVC, Volume Support, AutoMode) or Pressure based (BiPAP, APRV). The JIVA facilitates the implementation of either strategy in a simple, safe and logical manner. There has been increasing interest in preserving spontaneous breathing throughout the entire course of mechanical ventilation with a view to decrease the use of heavy sedation and paralysis, which in turn reduced ventilator time. This required an Active Exhalation Valve and Synchronised transitions between Inspiration and Expiration.

The Consensus papers dealt with issues relating to safe ventilatory practices. As a consequence to this, it meant that ventilators too would have to incorporate certain features to enable this.

With nearly 42% of the mechanical ventilation time spent in Weaning, and with evidence based guidelines suggesting early and frequent spontaneous breathing trials, and to support those failing in non-fatiguing modes, the ventilator should be equipped to do this.

The JIVA is also equipped to be a powerful high-end Neonatal ventilator offering Volume, Pressure and Dual Modes and Nasal CPAP facility.

Nasal CPAP is available as a standard mode. The Active Exhalation Valve promotes the improvement or restitution of FRC by permitting nasal spontaneous ventilation while CPAP is enabled. Alarms have been configured to respond to the use of Nasal Prongs and thereby reducing considerably the occurrence of Nuisance Alarms that is a feature in conventional neonatal ventilators.

The JIVA  avoids the necessity of otherwise having to invest in a dedicated NCPAP device, while at the same time, delivering superior NCPAP than conventional neonatal ventilators. By treating the patient on the same device, you avoid the disruptions associated with going back and forth between dedicated NCPAP units and conventional neonatal ventilators.
 

Nasal CPAP is today being widely used in Neonatal ICUs. For it to be done efficiently economically, and safely, it is imperative that it be done using a ventilator, and that too, one that has the required mechanisms for variable flow delivery, and, also alarms that identify disconnects, and don't compromise patient safety when the proximal line is disconnected, or when high pressure is present in the system.

The JIVA hardware has been optimized for handling Neonatal ventilation. The coupling with a battery backed up TWISTER Compressor offers the comfort that 100% O2 won’t be delivered to the patient in the event of electricity failures that stop the compressor.




USIRU Series of Ventilators

The USIRU ventilator is a high end Adult - Pediatric Ventilator. The basic version incorporates the most commonly used modes, while addressing all the concerns for the prevention of Ventilator Induced Lung Injury.

With successful weaning and extubation as the goals of ventilation, the USIRU has several indicators and features that supplement the clinical acumen of the respiratory therapist.

While alarms serve as protection of the patient during mechanical ventilation. At the same time, the ICU setting is a very stressful one with many duties and sounds competing for the therapist's attention. Improperly designed alarms can distract, and ultimately desensitize the therapist, as shown by various studies. The USIRU has recognized this, and its alarm system addresses this issue in the most balanced manner.

KIDVENT

The KIDVENT is a Neonatal Transport Ventilator. It is a compact, continuous flow, time cycled, pressure limited ventilator, designed to provide continuous ventilator support for neonatal and pediatric patients. It uses Air and O2 rotameters for achieving the FiO2 mix and the flow rate. The built-in battery lasts for over 6 hours. There is a preset Pressure trigger set at -1 cm H2O. When patient efforts cease, mandatory breaths are delivered at preset rates. Commencement of patient breaths reverts the ventilator to synchronized breath delivery. Integral Pressure Relief valves further enhance the safety of ventilation. There is the option of adding on a battery backed-up compressor which can provide upto 4 hours of operation in the event of AC failure.

MONITORS

MULTIPARAMETER PATIENT MONITORS

The VIKING Range of Patient Monitors provide accurate patient data and provide excellent value for money. They all have large TFT Displays. There are Multiple Screen Formats that allow the visualization of patient vital signs information in the most appropriate manner.

They have Electrosurgical Interference Suppression and are Defibrillator protected. This makes them suitable of as Operating Room Monitors, and also as Bedside Monitors in the ICU. All the monitors come with Arrhythmia Analysis and ST Segment Information.

These monitors have Trend data of important vital signs, and also a facility for the recall of stored waveforms. Desaturation Tone change is also available.

VIKING RANGE

This is a high end Patient Monitor covering all your needs from a basic 5 parameter monitor measuring and displaying ECG, NIBP, SpO2, Resp Rate. Temperature and Optional IBP , ETCO2 and Recorder. The higher end ones can also do Anaesthetic Agents and Depth of Anaesthesia

This is a dedicated transport Patient Monitor. The needs of vital sign monitoring in transport situations vary from that in the ICU. VIKING NEO

This is a dedicated neonatal monitor, especially designed to address the special challenges associated with measurement of vital signs in the neonatal population. It has the basic 5 parameters of ECG, NIBP, SpO2, Resp Rate, Temperature. Its extendable to ETCO2 and IBP measurements.



PULSE OXIMETERS

OXICA

The OXICA Pulse Oximeter comes with an easy carry on handle that makes it convenient for moving it to various areas where continuous monitoring of patients is required , but with less frequent staff interventions than say , in an ICU. Or when it has to be moved to an area where the patient is undergoing a short procedure where there is need for continuous SpO2 monitoring. The OXICA is a Pulse Oximeter with SpO2, Pulse Rate and a Plethysmograph with a 72 hour trend. It has a bright, easy to read LCD display. It is adequately alarmed, and can handle the full range of patients. Its long battery life facilitates its use in continuous monitoring.

The OXICA comes with options to upgrade to NIBP or ECG.

VIKING MINI

Spot checks of SpO2 is today recognized as being useful to verify the clinical status of low risk patient. The MINI is a very compact Handheld SpO2 / Pulse Rate Monitor for spot checks of SpO2. The attractive Colour LCD displays not just the Oxygen saturation, Pulse Rate (PR), but also the plethysmogram. It has an automatic standby feature to avoid any inadvertent battery drainage. It is also a useful device for use in the home care setting. It does have some ability for Continuous monitoring too. We also have standalone ETCO2 and ETCO2 + SpO2 monitors.

ANESTHESIA MACHINES

Erkadi’s Anesthesia Workstations bring new levels of safety, efficiency and economy to the delivery of inhalation anesthesia. They are available in a range of capabilities ranging from the Entry Level NYX to the High End DIXI and VENTURA models. Each has been designed for optimal operation in the Operation Theatre.

The Workstation range are available with Mechanical Flowmeters in the lower end machines and Electronic Flowmeters in the High end ones. They are a great value for money proposition. There are two possible display combinations, with an LED that shows Digital Display of Values, or an LCD that shows Graphical Waveforms.

The NYX Workstation has the basic modes, while the high end models have a large range of modes, including Dual Modes

Our designers have configured the Mechanical machines to give you many years of excellent service. Our attention to detail starts at the heart of the anesthesia machine, the flowmeters. Our flowmeters use imported glass, and the flowtubes have rotating bobbin-floats. We follow the stringent flowtube cosmetic inspection pecifications. Our flowtubes are anti-static, as now required by ISO 5358, and other applicable standards. We can provide you calibration certificates for each flowtube as per international standards. We maintain traceability for 10 years. If required, we do also offer calibration according to the European flowmeter accuracy standard, upto VDI / VDE 3513, Class 2.5. All our mechanical flowmeter assemblies come with built-in backlight for enhanced visibility.

The Electronic Flowmeters are available in models that have Fresh Gas Decoupling as well as in Continuous flow models. The Fresh Gas decoupling has been optimized for stability in breath delivery.

They have Pressure Gauges that display the Cylinder and Pipeline Pressures of the gases. Our machines come equipped with Dual Vaporizer (Selectatec) backbars.

Safety has received great attention, and several features have been incorporated in the VENTURA to provide world-class levels of safety, including

The machines are equipped with ventilators that greatly enhance the quality and productivity of the Anaesthesia workstation. They are available in several useful configurations

·NYX : It has a basic ventilator that is LED based Digital Display and limited IPPV and Manual Modes. Monitoring of Tidal Volume, Pressure and Respiration Rate. PEEP is externally set (mechanical)

· DIXI and VENTURA : They both have sophisticated TFT LCD based ventilators. They display waveforms and loops, and other information including Trends etc. They have Pressure, Volume and SIMV modes, Compliance and Fresh Gas Compensation, and Electronic PEEP. Here, FiO2 is also monitored, in addition to Tidal Volume, Pressure and Respiration Rate.

Circle Absorbers that are available with our machines are of two types. A basic one which is a 2 jar simple, pass-through absorber that suits the less demanding procedures. A more sophisticated one is also available that contains the CO2 absorber, adjustable pressure limiting (APL) valve, reservoir bag, circuit pressure gauge and a Bag-Vent switch to select manual or mechanical ventilation mode. All of these are in a single housing. The APL valves allow excess gas to escape when pressure set by you is exceeded, thus minimizing the risk of barotrauma to the patient. The APL Valve can be correctly set using the circuit monitoring pressure gauge.

The machines are also available , if required, with interlocked oxygen and nitrous oxide flow controls, thereby preventing the inadvertent delivery of a hypoxic inspired gas mixture.

The ratio of oxygen to nitrous oxide concentrations never decreases below 25% FiO2. Any adjustments to N2O flows that would depress FiO2 to below 25% will automatically cause an increase in the oxygen flow rate.

The high priority our designers have assigned to safety is assured with

· Oxygen Failure Warning Devices that are powered solely by the oxygen supply pressure in machine piping and activated when that pressure decreases below safe levels.

·Unidirectional Check Valves and Pressure Relief valves. Care has been taken to prevent retrograde pressure from the circuit side from causing back pressure that could cause flowmeter bobbins from bouncing and altering flows and so changing the agent concentration.

· High Flow Oxygen Flush is available for priming the ventilator, as well as for use in emergencies. It is supplied from the high pressure circuit upstream of the flowmeters and backbar.

CARDIOLOGY

The Cardiology range consists of the APACHE range of Electrocardiographs and the MAGNUM Holters.

The APACHE 100 and 300 offer very easy to use table-top ECG capability. They are bundled with software to upload the patient records onto your PC for storage and recall.

PUMPS

SAFE , COST EFFECTIVE, ACCURATE

Erkadi's range consists of the JIO Syringe Infusion Pump, and the VIVA Volumetric Drop Infusion Pump. They are characterized by accuracy in delivery, easy user interface and affordable price. The built-in battery provides more than adequate back-up for even transport applications.

VIVA INFUSION PUMP

The VIVA is a versatile Volumetric Drop Infusion Pump that runs on standard IV sets, yet also allows you to calibrate and use any special sets. It can run in either drops/min mode or ml/min mode. It is adequately alarmed for safe operation.

JIO SYRINGE PUMP

A top loading Syringe Pump that accommodates syringe sizes from 2ml onwards. The JIO does not need to use dedicated syringes. A calibration feature allows the pump to accommodate a wide range standard syringes. The colour LCD assists you in identifying settings, monitored data and the infusion status. With the JIO, you can either set the flow directly, or, it can calculate the flow when you just specify the Volume to be delivered and the Time over which the infusion should be given. For even greater assistance, it will calculate the flow rate when you specify the Volume, the Drug Mass, Patient Weight and the Dose. It has a full complement of alarms, including a multi-colour Occlusion alarms, and a very long battery life. It is stackable with a single point electrical connection.

TWISTER COMPRESSOR

These compressors are primarily meant for use with our JIVA, USIRU, GYPSY and KIDVENT range of Ventilators and NCPAP devices. However, the non-battery backed up versions are also available for OEM supplies. A compact and silent compressor, it has proven itself over the years in various environments as a rugged workhorse. A version with battery back-up is also available for use with our ventilators and NCPAP equipments.

AQUARIUS HUMIDIFIER

This humidifier, to be used with our JIVA and USIRU ventilators and NCPAP devices, will provide optimal humidity to patients. It adds heat and moisture to the dry gas mixture of Air and O2 that is delivered from the ventilator to the patient. The Aquarius will assist in the prevention of the inspissation of secretions, atelectasis and hypothermia. It is available with and without servo-control of temperature. It is simple to operate.







ZULU ANAESTHESIA VENTILATOR

The ZULU is a micro-processor based, pneumatically driven anesthesia ventilator. It has easy and direct control of Resp Rate, I:E Ratio and Flow Rate. Operating in Pressure Control Mode, it has alarms for low and high pressure, and alerts when the battery charge is low. There are separate bellows for Adult and Pediatric patients. It has an external PEEP valve option.

It can also be used, as some customers have chosen to, with our battery backed up compressors for economy and failsafe operation during power shut downs.
